Uhm,
I've got an image taken today at about 70 degrees north, wich
illustrates very good the effects of atmospheric scattering. I could be
used as a reference image if you wish to create a similar effect with
povray.
It shows a flat plain, mountains lit up by the sun at very low angle,
everything is covered by white snow and the sky is dark blue with a
crimson red to where the sun is.
